What is this Python project?

pikepdf is a mature, powerful Python library wrapping the mature, powerful and fast C++ library qpdf. It is intended for developers who want to create, manipulate, parse, repair, and abuse the PDF format. It supports reading and write PDFs, including creating from scratch. It supports linearizing PDFs and access to encrypted PDFs.

What's the difference between this Python project and similar ones?

It is a C++ library wrapper and is extremely fast compared to pure Python PDF libraries. It has excellent comprehensive documentation. It is excellent at reading PDFs, performing low-level manipulations, and saving them, and includes advanced features not found in other libraries.
