Third anniversary release

Panandâ is now three years old! Hooray! 🎉

The app now contains data on 1,235 historical markers and links to 1,652 photographs. This comprises 26 new marker data (including almost all of the 2021 quincentennial markers that have been unveiled so far), 1 removed marker (the old 1980 Antonio Pigafetta marker has been replaced), and 36 updated or corrected marker data.

2021 New Year release

• Updated: The marker details page now has a modern and clean layout.
• New: Added link to the official Twitter account on the about page. Follow us at @PanandaApp!
• Data: The app now contains data on 1,210 historical markers and links to 1,656 photographs. This includes 2 new marker data, 1 removed marker (we couldn’t find evidence that the marker exists in the stated location), and 167 updated or corrected marker data.
• Note: The minimum supported Android OS version is now 5.1.

September 2020 release

The app now contains data on 1,209 historical markers and links to 1,491 photographs. This includes 4 added marker data, 1 removed marker (the “Eugenio López” marker no longer available since the Benpres Building in Ortigas Center was demolished, but would be reinstalled again in the future), and 94 updated or corrected marker data.

Second anniversary release

The app now contains data on 1,206 historical markers and links to 1,456 photographs. This includes 7 new marker data, 1 removed marker (we couldn’t find evidence that the marker exists in the stated location), and 76 updated or corrected marker data.

Dozen hundred markers release

• Updated: Fixed a small display bug and improved some text layout.
• Data: Panandâ now has data on 1,200 markers and 1,413 photographs. This includes 33 new and 93 updated or corrected marker data. Unfortunately, we had to remove 3 markers because these are no longer installed in their locations due to fire or ongoing construction. Hopefully, these markers will be reinstalled in the future.

Android Masters release

• Added: On this day: Tap on the calendar icon on the map or list views to see which markers are historic today!
• Added: Historical markers with no English texts now have a link to Google Translate.
• Added: Some historical markers now link to their corresponding Wikimedia Commons category page so you can view more photos of the marker and its surroundings.
• Updated: The GPS map marker that indicates your current location now sports a more visible icon.
• Updated: Third-party libraries are now updated to their latest versions.
• Data: The app now contains data on 1170 historical markers and links to 1357 photographs. This includes 26 new and 58 updated or corrected marker data.
• Note: The minimum supported Android version is now 5.0 ("Lollipop")

September 2019 release

• The app now contains data on 1144 historical markers and links to 1303 photographs. This includes 39 new marker data and 91 updated or corrected marker data.
• Added adaptive icon for Android 8+.
• Photos now link to their Wikimedia Commons page so users can view larger versions.
• Optimize photo data and fix a photo display bug.

• The app now contains data on 1105 historical markers and links to 1237 photographs. This includes 132 new marker data, 2 removed markers, and 184 updated or corrected marker data.
• There is a new link to NHCP’s official registry of historic sites and structures in the Other Resources section.
• This update also optimizes the app so it should start and run just a little bit faster.

Bonifacio Day 2018 release

Bonifacio Day release! The app now has data on 975 historical markers and links to 1074 photographs. This includes 175 new marker data and 146 updated or corrected marker data.

Philippine History Month 2018 release

Philippine History Month release! The app now has 800 historical markers and links to 856 photographs. This includes 122 new markers and 117 updated markers.
