Use the Spi-enable.zip from https://wiki.up-community.org/Pinout_UP2#Installing_ACPI_overrides_to_enable_spi_in_userspace and follow these steps:

1. sudo ./install_hooks

2. copy PCM512X.asl to the spi-enable folder

3. sudo acpi-add PCM512X.asl

3. reboot

4. make sure you can see the status in 
cat /sys/bus/acpi/devices/104C5122\:00/status
