Hi, I'm Randil Tharusha 👋

Backend / Platform Software Engineer, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

I build production backend systems and cloud-native infrastructure in Go, with a security-conscious focus on platform engineering (Keycloak/OIDC, RBAC, encryption) and applied cryptography. Also into AI/LLM tooling built with MCP and agent orchestration.

💼 Currently

Backend engineer working on fintech infrastructure, Kubernetes deployments, and identity/auth systems. Contributing to the Ballerina standard library (WSO2) on the side.

🌟 A few things I've built

  • Hyena-K8s – decentralised secret management for Kubernetes using threshold cryptography (Shamir's Secret Sharing + gRPC)
  • E2E Encrypted Backup Agent – zero-trust backup tool in Go, 170+ MB/s restore throughput, hierarchical key management
  • ZynFlow – multi-tenant POS/inventory platform, live in production with paying clients
  • Analytics API – Go + DuckDB, processes 5M+ CSV rows in under 3 seconds

🔓 Open Source

Contributor to the Ballerina (WSO2) standard library, most notably the password hashing/verification API for ballerina/crypto (PBKDF2, Argon2id, BCrypt) plus RSASSA-PSS signature support.
