Hardware and firmware are licensed separately:

Hardware: CERN-OHL-S-2.0 (LICENSE.txt in the hardware repo)
Firmware: GPL-2.0 (per the firmware repo)

Intended use

The PID will be used in the keyboard firmware for Nehan42.
