mynetx/README.md

Hey. 👋

I’m a full-stack engineer who has been building web software for most of my adult life. Some of it was greenfield, some of it is still running years later, and some of it was already old when I first opened the repository.

I’m based in Germany and work remotely. I like systems that are understandable, predictable, and don’t demand attention when nothing is wrong.

What I Do

I design and implement web applications end-to-end. That usually means backend, frontend, integrations, deployments, and all the uncomfortable glue code in between.

I care about:

  • code that explains itself to the next person (often future me)
  • boring technology that fails in obvious ways
  • small abstractions with clear boundaries
  • removing things until the system gets simpler

I’ve worked as a freelancer, contractor, co-founder, and long-term team member. Most of my work has been remote, international, and asynchronous long before that was fashionable.

Work (Selected)

Pixelkode — Full Stack Engineer (since 2020, remote)
I build and maintain custom Laravel applications, shops, and websites. This includes translating designs into solid frontends, integrating APIs, debugging production issues, improving performance, and generally making sure systems stay operable over time.

Force24 (UK) — Contractor
Long-term contracting work around system integrations, plugins, and a cloud-based catalog application for Michelin UK.

Jublo — Co-founder
I helped build open-source libraries for social network APIs (codebird-js, codebird-php), internal business software, and tooling for translation workflows. I also learned that running a company teaches you different lessons than writing code.

Ripple Labs
Worked on the Ripple Trade web client, focusing on bug fixing, feature development, testing, and localization workflows.

Localization & Translation (past life)
Years of freelance work for Lionbridge, RWS Moravia, and Twitter. This is why I tend to notice wording issues and edge cases that show up once software leaves English.

Tools & Technologies

Languages
PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL
Some Swift, occasional Rust curiosity

Frameworks & Platforms
Laravel, Symfony
Vue, React
Shopware 6, Statamic

Tooling
Git, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI
Docker, Nginx
PHPUnit, Vite
Linux, macOS

I’m usually more interested in why a tool exists than in how loudly it’s advertised.

Human Languages

German, English, French, Pidgin English
Working knowledge of Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Polish

Context

Former Microsoft MVP (Windows Live).
Volunteer IT and infrastructure work.
Past humanitarian involvement in Cameroon and The Gambia.

I try to build things in a way that makes life easier for the people who have to live with them afterward.

If I’m quiet, I’m probably fixing something that was “quickly added” years ago …

One Principle

Good software is understandable, predictable, and a little boring. If it needs a hero, it’s already in trouble.
