WIP
PR contains changes from #7, will be rebased once #7 has been merged.
PR writes specc based on db service as is - only unused variables and obvious bugs have been fixed.
Note: Larger restructuring of the service is necessary to write more meaningful tests. May be done in a separate PR :)
