Adding a new newsletter

Newsletters are generated on MailChimp. Each newsletter is created with in mail chimp and shared. The template can be exported from mail chimp into a simple html file. This html file is used to add a newsletter entry to the main site.

1. Rename newsletter html file into the respective date.

mv file.html Newsletter_<month>_<year>.html

Note that the is full spelling with fist letter capitalised. For example, October.

2. Move the file to the appropriate year's folder under the newsletter folder.

mv Newsletter_<month>_<year>.html fieldsofview.github.io/newsletters/<year>

3. Edit the newsletter.html to add the extra entry. Note that in case there is no entry for a new year, add the same in by copy-pasting it from below. Please note this is YAML and its case-sensitive and indentation-sensitive.

• categories indicates the year.
• description indicates the path to the html file. Note the filename.
• ide indicates the month for classification.
• title name for display.
