with commit#bbad5d1 the DB issue seems ok, but autosys key is now an issue probably.
We cannot use external service in unittest so this becomes a big hurdle.
NOTE: last log-clean commit was a blunder. No speedup and tests do not run afaik.

Closing — this experimental branch is far behind main and has merge conflicts. Created issue to track the underlying problem instead.
