Table of Contents
UniEra is a web application built in collaboration with the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), designed to make life easier for students participating in the Erasmus exchange program. The platform lets students browse partner universities, match courses taken abroad with courses from their home department, manage their applications and Learning Agreements, and take part in a forum where they can ask questions and share experiences with other students.
The idea came from the need for a single, centralized place for Erasmus-bound students, instead of having to search for course equivalencies and official documents scattered across different sources.
Make sure you have the following installed:
- JDK 8
- Apache Maven
- Apache Tomcat (servlet container, compatible with Servlet API 2.5)
- MySQL
Once logged in, you can:
- Browse the list of partner universities and view details for each one
- Match courses taken abroad with courses from your department (6th/7th semester)
- Submit an application and fill out your Learning Agreement
- Join the forum, asking or answering questions from other students
- Download useful documents (Erasmus Policy Statement, Student Charter, etc.)
- Migrate to Spring Boot for better maintainability
- Upgrade the frontend with a JavaScript framework
- Consolidate legacy page versions (
applications_old.jsp,forumOld.jsp) - Add automated tests
- Responsive design for mobile
