This is a pull request to make suggested changes to the community blog to better unify the look with other community sites. Specifically:

  • we use the same style (color and logo interaction) to replace the "doesn't have any theme" look.

Notice that when we scroll down, the logo disappears instead of moving / getting weird so the reader has content front and center:

The menu links do not go back to any home that is the us-rse.org main site, instead we have a small link to this site in the footer:

In the menu, under community we can link to "Find an RSE" or "Community Sites." For Find an RSE, the branding matches (and we likely will need to tweak these links since they haven't been touched.) The Community Sites page uses the GitHub API to automatically discover the community-* site repos, and add them to the table (we never have to touch this again!)

And some small changes I've made to improve the site:

  • the logo is no longer hard coded in the template, but added to the configuration.
  • the same is true for the the prefix we use to filter repos in the GitHub API ("prefix" in the configuration).

That's it :)
