Medtronic LABS is a nonprofit health systems innovator with a mission to expand access to care for patients across the world. Formed in 2012 in partnership with Medtronic, we design and implement operating intelligence for health systems — combining strategy, technology, and in-country execution to unlock sustainable impact at scale.
We work with Ministries of Health and health systems to achieve meaningful improvements in population health outcomes through intelligent enhancement of existing digital infrastructure and care delivery models, starting with primary care.
5 million people die each year in low- and middle-income countries from poor-quality care — not from lack of access, but from fragmented systems that fail to coordinate and act.

SPICE is an open-source, certified Digital Public Good and Global Good for Health deployed in 8 countries. It transforms how patients are identified, managed, and supported across the community-to-facility care continuum.

SPICE 2.0 expands clinical coverage to the full primary care spectrum: malaria, ANC, PNC, child health, iCCM, TB, HIV, and immunization — built to WHO and national guidelines, with offline-first CHW workflows.
The CCE is a protocol-based open network that intelligently connects existing digital systems for longitudinal care coordination. It doesn't replace systems — it orchestrates them.
