Send a private message that only the right person can read. Decode scrambles your text using a secret key you and your recipient agree on. No servers, no accounts, no apps to install.
Pick a key, any word or phrase you and the other person agree on. Type your message, hit Encrypt, and Decode turns it into a long unreadable string. Send that string anywhere you like: a text message, an email, a sticky note. On the other end, the same key unscrambles it back to the original.
If the key is wrong, the message just doesn't open. There's no peek, no preview, no "almost right".
- Web app: decode-orcin.vercel.app. Works on phone, laptop, anywhere. Tap "Add to Home Screen" and it feels like a regular app.
- Chrome extension: select text on any website, right-click, and pick Encrypt with Decode or Decrypt with Decode. Download it from the link in the web app's footer, or from the latest release.
Open Settings in the web app to change the name, icon, and colors. Your choices carry through to the home-screen launcher, so the app can look however you'd like it to.
Nothing you type ever leaves your browser. There is no Decode server, no analytics, no tracking. Your messages and your key only ever exist on your own device.
