CounterPhish is a Chrome extension designed to enhance your online security by safeguarding against phishing attempts and typosquatting domains using domain filtering. With CounterPhish, you can easily manage your trusted and blocked domains to ensure a safe browsing experience.
- Smart Domain Filtering: Blocks access to known malicious websites.

- Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store (link to be added).
- Click "Add to Chrome" to install CounterPhish.
- The CounterPhish icon will appear in your browser toolbar.
- View Lists: Click the CounterPhish icon to see current whitelists and blacklists.
- Add Domain: Enter a domain in the input field and click "Add to Whitelist" or "Add to Blacklist".
- Remove Domain: Click the ❌ next to any domain to remove it from the list.
- Blocked Site: When accessing a potentially dangerous site, you'll see a warning page with details.
- Whitelists: Domains on this list are gonna go through the typosquatting test, this usually includes well known domains such as google.com, facebook.com, banking-website.com, etc.
- Blacklists: Domains on this list are gonna be blocked without any further checks, this usually includes known phishing domains, scam websites, etc. However for now the blacklists are empty, you can add your own domains to it.
CounterPhish respects your privacy:
- No personal data is collected or transmitted.
- All list management is done locally on your device.
- Base lists are updated with extension updates to maintain protection against new threats.
