dd.MM isn't parsed by the library
It return null
But this is so often format

As a workaround I use .replace(".", "/") and it works correctly...

Hello. We want to filter out short dot notation (e.g., "9.12") as unlikely results, at least in English default.

Are you working in some locale where such a pattern is widespread? Or, if you confident that all such inputs are always dates in your use case, you can add a parser for that pattern?

I used it on serverside where mostly all patterns should be valid

It is popular in Russian and many countries in my opinion
