Switch from selfhosted simple-login/app

Thanks for all your work and keeping simplelogin up2date.

I would like to switch to your simplelogin solution and migrate my existing database.

Sadly my old VPS provider barely let's me access the VPS (can't establish ssh connection due to oversold servers).

I have a full backup of my .env, dkim keys and /sl/ directory (/db/, /pgp/, /upload/).

Could you by chance provide hints how to migrate if I freshinstall your self-hosted simplelogin?

My download is based on simplelogin/app-ci:v4.72.0

Thanks for your interest in this project.

If you have all the backups then your are almost set 😉.

This project runs v4.70.0 and there should be no issues running your version. I try to keep track every now and then, and so far, all updates from app:4.65-beta to app-ci:v4.70.0 have only required changing the image versions and restarting.

If you are starting from scratch, I suggest you follow the same steps as if you were running a previous NGINX-based setup.

This procedure assumes you have everything backed up, including the db/ folder with its data files.

• Setup the DNS records (take time to make sure everything is right, including reverse PTR record)
• Make sure Docker is installed and configured correctly to support IPv6 required for the SimpleLogin iOS application running from a 5G smartphone.
• Since you are starting from scratch, you can start with Postgre SQL image version 12.22 (latest minor version compatible with the version from official Simplelogin). Most likely the db/ folder you have should allow you to startup with needing to "restore".

Note when everything is running correctly, I suggest upgrading to the latest 18+ version which requires a full dump and restore again.
