Android TV - Application Type

Hi all,

Great app here and I've been using it on my Sony Bravia A80L which runs Android 12.

One thing I've noticed is that it always is detected as just an "app", is there anyway to change it to flag it as "App (Video)?

With the Sony, if it's a video app, it unlocks extra picture modes which I do use for certain situations which are not available for just "application".

The app is properly marked as a video player app in manifest (specs) .
You could check if other 3rd party apps are recognized as Video apps.
But based on experience, lots of the special features (MEMC etc.) is often whitelisted for only a number of apps (package ids/namespaces). The largest ones like VLC often make it but not the smaller ones.

Thanks for your reply, I didn't realise there was a bit more to it than just setting the flags.

Nether the less, it's a game changer to have a player that can play DoVi files natively!
