Information: I am unable to keep up with process maintenace

Dear CLC, for your information I would like to declare that I am unable to keep up with active maintenance of process and will seek new maintainership to help. See haskell/process#350 (comment).

I will reach out privately to some potential candidates and run them by the other active maintainer @bgamari. If I am unable to find anyone that way I will come back to the CLC to request their help.

@tomjaguarpaw, I think doing some releases and deprecations is rather pressing

1. there are a couple versions of process shipped without poxix_spawnp support, in minor version differences, which can cause significant performance degradations on certain platforms
2. fixing this bug would also be worth it to do a minor release for
3. this is especially relevant as process versions shipped as ghc boot library exhibit different behaviour than versions (re-)installed from hackage, this affects minor ghc releases

Now I don't wanna pressure you to do maintenance you have expressed several times you don't have the capacity for.

I would like to offer to prepare the patch releases and organize a review for the MRs and then would ask the CLC or one of the elected maintainers to take care of uploading to hackage.

CLC prefers to not be involved for maintenance unless you would like that to be the case, so if you already found a maintainer, that would also be a good way forward.

That sounds bad but I don't know what you're referring to. I don't see any relevant issues or PRs: https://github.com/haskell/process/issues/?q=poxix_spawnp. Is there an existing discussion of this issue?

Before that, could you point me to an existing discussion of this issue, or if one does not exist yet then create an issue on the process issue tracker, so I understand what the situation is? After that, I would welcome you preparing the patch release.

I have have no difficulty with uploading to Hackage. I can take care of that part. Reviewing work contributed by others should also be fine, assuming it's an amount I keep up with. It's primarily determining what work should be done and doing the work that I don't have time for. (Furthermore process seems to have delicate behaviour around autoconf and maybe other things that are shipped with the Cabal package that I have not had time to look into.)

Unfortunately I have not found another maintainer. Would you be interested? You clearly have the necessary skills to work on the package. If you are interested then please create an issue on the process issue tracker saying so.
