Using 'Save & Share' Crashes Site

Bug Description

Crash report launched some time after I chose 'Save & Share'
I went to repeat this operation because it had not saved first time

Reproduction steps

35 line text file
pattern \d{2,3}\s+[A-Z][A-Z-']+(?: [A-Z][a-zA-Z. ]*)?

Expected Outcome

To save link for further use and for the site to go on functioning as normal

'Save & Share > Copy shareable link' appears to be not working. Clipboard remains unchanged from my last data copy. No link details to paste.

Thanks for the report! Does the error happen you click "Save new Regex"? Are you signed in or not?

Do you get any errors with copy shareable link?

Originally I was not signed in. But I have just tried it when signed in. It does not copy. My clipboard remains unchanged. Although no more crashes. " Do you get any errors with copy shareable link? " I don't get a copy.

Okay, odd. I will have to investigate this more closely. Do you get a toast that says the copy was successful? Do you get any errors/warnings in your console?

And you don't see a toast in the bottom right corner of the page either?

For 30 lines in the test string I get this toast in Chrome "The current editor state is too large to fit in a URL" Note: I get this even when there is no regex pattern in the 'Regular Expression' window. So I assume this message is all about my text containing too many lines. Thanks for the update. I will make the toast message clearer, its trying to say the copy failed because creating a URL with the current state isn't possible.

Beyond that, I will try to fix the actual save error you see that is preventing you from saving arbitrary data (without any URL limitation). I'm trying to understand how that error happens, since I can't reproduce it.

I believe the issue is due to an API change I made, which affected you as you were using an older client at the time. After a refresh, you likely got the new version, and it all aligned again.

Hopefully it does not happen again :-)
