implement a way to do a proper cancel of the sync

maybe look for a particular named file in /tmp? /tmp/osyncSTOP
I mean people dont normally sync /tmp anyway.

Could you explain your usecase perhaps ?
I mean there are probably better ways to stop sync, eg sending a signal to the process or alike.
