Hi @carneiro-cw , I'd like to take this one (while #2544 waits for review).

My plan after reading the code: debug_traceTransaction and eth_call already cover the two halves of this. I'd extract the tracer-dispatch part of Evm::inspect() (the match tracer_type block in evm.rs) into a shared function, then add an inspect_call path that builds the EvmInput from a CallInput + BlockFilter (reusing translate_to_point_in_time, same as eth_call) instead of loading a stored transaction. The new debug_traceCall handler in rpc_server.rs would mirror the debug_traceTransaction one, including enhance_trace_with_decoded_info.

Proposed scope for v1: call object + block filter + GethDebugTracingOptions, supporting the same tracers inspect() already handles. I'd leave Geth's TraceCallConfig extras (stateOverrides, blockOverrides, txIndex) out for now to keep the diff reviewable — can follow up if you want them.

Does that scope work for you? Anything specific driving this request (e.g. a tool that needs it) that I should test against?
