I have just noticed some <formatRef> element accidentally thrown into a format description file. It may have been me, making sure that it doesn't work and wanting to post about it, and... here comes the posting.
So far, we use this element only in recommendations, having to use longer references to e.g. reference formats from inside descriptions of other formats. That is, delicately speaking, suboptimal :-)
The may be path issues hidden in this task, but there are ways to resolve that. So let me record this as a welcome enhancement for when we've dealt with more pressing issues.
Is it a "feature"? For those of us creating docs, yes, for sure.
