Allow defaulting all recipes in a justfile as `[script]`

Most of my justfiles and recipes heavily rely on the use of [script], if there was a way to default this so I don't need to add that decoration on each recipe that would be great.

Something like:

set default-script := true

[casey]

This seems reasonable. Do you use non-script recipes too? If so, there would need to be an annotation which could be used to get the default, linewise recipe behavior. I call recipes which aren't script recipes "linewise", meaning that they execute one line at a time, but this is very clunky, and I'm not sure I would want to add a [linewise] attribute. [command] or [shell] are other options.

Not the OP, but I use script tag heavily due to its default quiet nature. I do choose linewise behavior for some oneliner or interactive thing. The usage is like 80/20 though.

Hope you can come up with a nice name for it.

[no-script] might line up better with the existing patterns:

set script-interpreter := ['bash', '-euo', 'pipefail']
set default-script := true

hello:
    echo "hello world"
    echo "I am a [script]"

[no-script]
foo:
    echo "I am not using the [script] directive"

or default to script if script-interpreter is included in the justfile (likely a breaking change):

set script-interpreter := ['bash', '-euo', 'pipefail']

hello:
    echo "hello world"
    echo "I am a [script] because script-interpreter was set"

[no-script]
foo:
    echo "bar"
    echo "I am not using the [script] directive"
