Hello,

i started using MATLAB 2025. So far, I have not encountered any issue, but some warnings that might need some attention:

So i found the first break of matlab2025:

inputing the fiducials is having some issue; and interacting with the buttons is kind of tricky

Is this related to resizing the figure, or is the figure like this when it opens?

The figure is normal when opened, but the panel controlling the fiducial moves when hovering the pointer on the top right view of the MRI.

Edit: I just tried, and the issue also occurs if i don't resize the window

Is this for the newest version, 2025b, or 2025a?
Is there any warning or error on the terminal?

I just downloaded 2025b, and I don't have this issue. [we have other issues to check now, but not this one]

it was Matlab2025a. There was the warning about the javacomponent but that's all. Maybe it's because of my multiple-screen setup.

It seems now confirmed that Matlab2026a won't include Java jvm by default : https://www.mathworks.com/help/releases/R2026a/matlab/release-notes.html#mw_760b743a-b1dc-4c98-bc22-0fb7a8d23320

Currently, MATLAB installations on Windows® and Linux platforms include Oracle Java. However, in a future release, MATLAB will no longer include Oracle Java as part of its installation. Instead, you will have to download and install a compatible OpenJDK distribution after installing MATLAB. MATLAB will continue to support OpenJDK on all platforms. For information about supported versions, see Versions of OpenJDK Compatible with MATLAB by Release.

There are some new updates coming though, like the possibility to export figures to interactive HTML page: https://www.mathworks.com/help/releases/R2026a/matlab/creating_plots/display-interactive-graphics-in-web-pages.html

Since nothing is mentioned about JDK versions, R2026a should support JDK 8 as well

Matlab 2026a is now out; we might want to check if we need to give specific instructions to the user on how to configure Java:

So far Java 8 is still installed in Windows and Linux

For macOS, we do have instructions on how to install Java 8
