DataFusion has a new release in the 52 series! We deliberately stayed on DataFusion 51 for 0.3.0; however, when we upgrade to DataFusion 52 we get a few features including the ability to read nested geometry/geography columns in Parquet and write geometry/geography columns to parquet.
The DataFusion 52.3.0 release vote is in progress although we could start a draft PR now with the current DataFusion 52.
