Sleep mode on AMD device not functioning properly

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Upon pressing the power button, system should go to sleep mode but it fails and freezes in black (and back lit) screen with some remnant of steamlogo. It does go back to the system completely when I press back the power button. The system does not go to sleep mode completely.

Having the same issue on steam deck lcd, at first I thought it was a me issue so I tried everything including recovery image reinstalls but the issue persists, I also tried installing an older steam os version but that just automatically updates to this broken mess of the latest update with no sleep function

I also tried invoking sleep via the power option when hitting the steam button, but it immediately wakes up after a second or so, the same is happening on desktop mode
