no sound even when changing/selecting sound in settings on hisense tablet

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Time
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? No sound. Went to 
settings to change sound. No effect even though sound plays preview.

Please include the following info:
Phone model? Hisense 7 LT
Android Version?
ROM?

If possible, provide a logcat of the issue:
If you get a Force Close do an: adb logcat
