+In Cumulus Linux 5.16 and later, NVUE uses IPv6 address normalization, where it stores and looks up all IPv6 addresses in their normalized (canonical) form (for example, 2001:db8::1 instead of 2001:0db8::0001). When you copy the `startup.yaml` file manually from Cumulus Linux 5.15 or earlier to Cumulus Linux 5.16, the file bypasses the standard upgrade translation process. As a result, the configuration might contain unnormalized IPv6 addresses that are valid in earlier Cumulus Linux releases, which might cause failed lookups during NVUE show commands, unexpected configuration mismatches and failed or silent misconfigurations.
