Bug Report: Game crash after playing song in charter and then adding event and clicking off

After loading and playing through a song in charter, or leaving halfway through, it seems that whenever I place an event on the chart and click off, the game automatically crashes. This does not happen unless I have first played the song or part of it. Ignore the activate windows watermark.

What are your song's audio files? OGG Vorbis is the audio format Codename is guaranteed to work with. If you open the files in, say, a video player and see an actual video, then you need to convert the file to exclusively be OGG Vorbis.

Doesn't seem to be the cause, I've ran through each file and made sure they were ogg, but that didn't fix the crash.

OGG refers to the container format. What I'm talking about is OGG Vorbis, which is one possible codec for what's inside of the container. Multiple more codecs exist, including OGG Theora that provides video capabilities. All of them function differently, so you have to check the codec being used.

The fastest way I can think up of checking the codec (specifically the encoder) is with ffmpeg, though this will require having it installed and at least some knowledge of the command line. You can simply use ffmpeg -i <audiofile>.ogg, using the path to the audio file. Although this will certainly print a large amount of text and a couple of error messages, you should be able to see the encoder in one of the last couple of lines; if the encoder field is similar to, say, Lavc61.19.101 libvorbis, then the file should be okay to use.

Of course, you are free to use a website for the same purpose.
